- Religious Cover for Land Business Exposed in Uttarakhand
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a firm stance against illegally operated madrassas in the state. In a major crackdown, 52 illegal madrassas have been sealed within the first 15 days of March. On Monday alone, authorities sealed 12 illegal madrassas in Khatima and 9 more in the same region, following previous actions against 31 such institutions.
For a long time, a network of illegal madrassas was being established in Pachhadun and other areas of Uttarakhand, allegedly under the guise of religious activities. Concerns have also been raised regarding demographic changes in these regions. However, CM Dhami has made it clear that the original identity of the state will not be compromised under any circumstances. His message is firm—those violating the law or encroaching on land illegally will face strict action.
This decisive move underscores CM Dhami’s commitment to upholding law and order in Uttarakhand. The crackdown on illegal encroachments is expected to continue, with even bigger actions anticipated in the coming days.
