New Delhi, May 14, 2025 — The Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, held a meeting today with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) delegation led by its National Convener, Arvind Kejriwal, at Nirvachan Sadan.
This meeting is part of the ongoing series of consultations being held by the Election Commission of India (ECI) with Presidents of various National and State political parties, aimed at fostering open dialogue on electoral matters.
The interactions are designed to provide a platform for party leaders to voice their suggestions and concerns directly to the Commission, fulfilling a long-standing need for structured, constructive engagement between the ECI and political stakeholders.
This outreach is aligned with the Commission’s broader vision to strengthen the electoral process within the legal framework by engaging all relevant stakeholders.
Earlier this month, the ECI had similar meetings with delegations from:
- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), led by President Km. Mayawati (May 6),
- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda (May 8),
- Communist Party of India (Marxist), represented by General Secretary Shri M.A. Baby (May 10),
- National People’s Party (NPP), led by President Shri Conrad Sangma (May 13).
These engagements are part of a broader initiative that has so far included 4,719 all-party meetings, encompassing 40 interactions by Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs), 800 by District Electoral Officers (DEOs), and 3,879 by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), involving over 28,000 political party representatives.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to upholding the integrity and inclusiveness of the electoral process through continued collaboration and dialogue with all political stakeholders.
